Inverawe Scottish Oak Smokehouse
"Start with the best, compromise nothing and success will follow." Robert was given this advice many years ago when he started the business and it remains at the heart of everything they do.
Inverawe Smokehouses is different. While the rest of the world has sped up, they prefer the more gradual pace of traditional slow smoking. This time-honoured method allows the fish to gently take up the gorgeous smoky aroma in its own unhurried time, giving the most delicious full-bodied oak-smoked flavour that is distinctively Inverawe. Situated in Argyll, on the West Coast of Scotland, and surrounded by stunning lochs and mountains, Inverawe Smokehouses offers a true taste of the Highlands.
Inverawe has now arrived in Hong Kong!
Until now there have been very few export sales at all of the Inverawe products. Inverawe has traditionally stayed within the UK markets but they are currently looking to establish partnerships with a limited number of Hong Kong suppliers to bring their extraordinary products to the market.
Inverawe really are very unique in how they smoke their fish as well as the sheer quality of their products. Added to this, they have about 135 products in the entire range so not simply smoked salmon which immediately puts them on a different plane to a straightforward salmon supplier. They can also supply unsmoked fresh/frozen fish.
Inverawe are one of the only smokehouse who smokes fish in the age old traditional manner - over oak logs for a period of up to 48 hours which slowly release a softer gentle smoke compared with the 8 hours over sawdust used by commercial smokehouses. As stated on their website, this makes the fish taste absolutely outstanding. They use no additives or preservatives whatsoever in their ingredients and their specially chosen small, lean fish are not in the least bit fatty - as can often be the case with the commercially produced fish. In short, their fish is a different product to the commercially smoked salmon and cannot really be compared in quality at all because of this.
The Royal Warrant they were granted in 2000 stands them as one of the very highest suppliers in terms of quality of produce and they pride themselves on the continued support from the Royal Household.
